Talking to newsmen, Ministry spokeswoman, Zhang Qiyue said that during Russian President Vladimir Putin' visit, for talks with his Chinese counterpart, the two sides would sign a document clearly expressing China's support for Russia in its effort to enter WTO.
Zhang confirmed that China and Russia had signed an initial document on the issue during Chinese premier Wen Jiabao's visit to Moscow in September.
She stressed that Putin's visit to China was an important one to strengthen their strategic ties.
Sino-Russian bilateral trade volume this year is expected to reach 20 billion US dollars and the two sides plan to raise the figure to 60 billion by 2010 and 80 billion in the following few years.
Statistics from China Customs show that the trade volume between China and Russia jumped to 15.76 billion US dollars in 2003 from 5.72 billion US dollars in 1999 with an annual growth rate of 20 per cent.
