CRPF jawans go beyond the call of duty to save a life in Dantewada
An ailing woman in a remote village in Chhattisgarh found out in the greatest experience of her life how our brave hearts go beyond the call of duty to care for those who need them the most in the toughest of times. While they saved her life, they also taught her something she will never ever forget.
Our security forces, who have set examples of bravery and valour, look forward to serving the country at every opportunity. Even otherwise, they miss no chance to help the common man.
Our CRPF jawans have set such examples of humanity that will win hearts anytime. Our jawans who were campaigning in Naxal-affected district Dantewada of Chhattisgarh, heard a woman suffering from severe fever in the Nayanar village surrounded by dense forests. Alone and helpless, her two-month-old baby was crying beside her. She needed immediate treatment due to the difficult terrain, however, airlifting as not an option.
They would have to carry her on foot. And then, these brave hearts carried her on a makeshift stretcher on foot, crossing mountains and streams, through intensive terrain for a distance of about seven kilometers and reached the nearest village where they finally found an ambulance and admitted the woman in hospital. The woman is undergoing treatment and her health is improving.
Her husband who arrived much later had only words of gratitude and tears in his eyes for his wife's saviours.
Our soldiers have once again given us a chance to be proud of them not just by their bravery and sacrifice when fighting the enemy but by aiding a simple woman and giving her a new lease of life.
